Phil Haley and his Comments @ Coppenhall Working Mens Club, Crewe View map - Coppenhall Working Mens Club Permanent link

Phil Haley and his Comments

After being told time and time again of his resemblance to the late great Bill Haley, Phil decided to put together a group of musicians to form the band 'Phil Haley and his Comments'.

The first to join him was Saxophone player, Allen Paris, and together they set out to build a Rock 'n' Roll stage show that would become one of the most requested performances to come out of the United Kingdom, spreading throughout Europe, and as far away as Australia.

Leeds based Double Bass player Martyn Savage became the third member of the band. The trio then set out to find a drummer to provide the back beat to the music they were so keen to create. Brian Nichols appeared, and his unique style of drumming became the backbone of the bands' music, setting them on the road to becoming one of today's top Rock 'n' Roll tribute bands.

Together the four members of the band began to create a unique style and sound, writing their own songs as well as covering some of the greatest Rock and Roll numbers ever to be written and performed by Bill Haley and the Comets.

After five years of hard work, dedication, and performances up and down the length of the country, Phil Haley and his Comments began to build up a following for their particular style of music further afield. Tour dates in Norway, Finland, France, Germany and Holland - the rest of Europe soon followed.

Today, the foursome have just returned from a successful tour of Australia, where they also recorded their debut CD 'Everybody Needs to Rock', containing ten original songs written by members of the band, plus four covers from Bill Haley's original set.

Don't miss your chance to see and hear this unique tribute band perform live, giving you a taste of the authentic style and sound of the original Rock 'n' Roll years, proving once and for all that the music of Bill Haley and the Comets will never die.

See you later Alligator!

Electro 80's @ Shavington Club, Shavington View map - Shavington Club Permanent link

Electro 80's

The Eighties were a time of radical changes in both music and fashion.

In the aftermath of the punk revolution, daring New Romantics embraced developing sounds and technologies to transform the music industry forever.

Gary Numan, The Human League, Kraftwerk & Depeche Mode all helped to create a totally new genre of music; Electronica or Synth-pop, a futuristic new sound that almost seemed like science fiction at the time.

Electro 80's pay tribute to this era, and have lovingly recreated songs by the afore mentioned pioneers (and many more), to create a live entertainment show that is sure to transport everyone from this generation, back to the days of underground club scenes and even school discos.

Unforgettable classics like Fade to Grey and Just Can't Get Enough are performed alongside lesser-known tracks, which will jog your memory in a nostalgic show that is both visually and acoustically stunning.

Bobby Dazzler @ The Railway Inn, Alsager View map - The Railway Inn Permanent link

Bobby Dazzler

Bobby Dazzler started singing when he was just 15. He used to sneak Into a local pub where they had "Open Mic" sessions. The compere was none other than Pete Conway who is Robbie Williams's father who would sing songs from Englebert Humperdinck, Tom Jones and Johnny Mathis. Bobby then decided to have a go for himself, singing songs from The Rat Pack, Bobby Darin etc, to which Pete suggested he had a future singing.

Time passed and after a few years Bobby attended a friends bar opening and got up to sing a few songs, he was then asked to run the karaoke two nights a week. This is where it all started. He was soon established as a karaoke entertainer and offers from other bars came flooding in and he was working seven nights a week.
This continued for a number of years, before a rest was needed. He met his future wife and decided to take a well earned break. After six months The Dazzer was getting his fever back, and also had plans to live abroad, so in June 2005 The Dazzler and his family moved to the Costa Del Sol, where, after singing in the bars, work offers came flooding in and The Dazzler was back on the road twenty years on from where it all started.

Now back in the UK, expect hits from the 60's 70's 80's, ballads, soul, reggae and more...

Don't forget your dancing shoes!
