Sleepwalker's station

'Colourful soundscapes of a traveller's soul.'

In his songs singer/songwriter Daniel del Valle, alias Sleepwalker's Station, is telling stories about his journeys across the globe, from the green West coast of Ireland, across the vast Indian ocean to the deserted centre of Australia, with Nick Drake's philosophy, Dylan's roots and the dreams of Counting Crow's Mr.Jones.

Sleepwalker's Station is an Italian-German-Spanish Indie World Folk project with songs in 5 different languages and 4 dialects blending various styles like indie and folk with more traditional styles like flamenco, tango, music from the Alps or the Andes and chanson.

On tour since 2011 in changing line ups, playing over 800 live gigs across Europe and America.
Including festivals like Glastonbury (UK), SXSW (Texas), Open Flair (Germany), No sin Música (Spain), MEI (Italy), Westway Lab (Portugal) East side music days (Berlin)…

“Whilst unsurprisingly Sleepwalker’s Station compose fairly complex and intricate constructions, the output is light and relaxing on the ear."

With influences ranging from Blink-182 to Beethoven these four lads have really found their own sound. Will (vocals/guitar), Alex (drums), Marcus (guitar) and Rob (Bbass) have all been playing music since they can remember. The lads released their debut EP ‘’100X’’ in 2014 which they recorded with James Lewis (Sunset Sons, Artic Monkeys, Rudimental) and have since released the single ‘’Game Time’’ with a music video.

In April 2016 the boys went on tour to the USA. They played for the global music showcase MUSEXPO and Global Rock Summit and played at some of the most famous venues in LA like Whiskey A Go Go and Viper Room. ‘It was just so, so cool playing in LA’ says Alex.
‘We met Gene Simmons and the rest of Kiss whilst we were rehearsing in LA and he tried to impersonate our accents - he was terrible at it!’’ Yeah but not as cool as when Fergie (Black Eyed Peas) asked if I could be hers for the day’ boasts Will!

After coming back from the USA, strings of shows and festivals, the boys have been busy in the recording studio working hard on recording their new material. With bags of new tracks to be released and music videos ready to be premiered, 2019 is going to be a very busy and exciting time for White Eskimo!

Sabbra Cadabra @ Langtry's, Crewe View map - Langtry's Permanent link

Black Sabbath tribute, plus Rockageddon Classic Rock Night

The tribute to classic Black Sabbath, featuring the absolute best of Ozzy Osbourne-era Sabbath.

Sabbra Cadabra is the closest thing you can get to an early 1970s Black Sabbath show without using a time travel device! .

The Sabbra Cadabra show is a very faithful reproduction of early Sabbath material, featuring absolute classics from the first 8 albums with the original line-up between 1970 and 1978. The attention to detail with performing and attempting to look like the Godfathers of Heavy Metal is simply superb. After all, you don’t want to watch just a bunch of guys in jeans and t-shirts do you?!

Sabbra Cadabra get as close as you can get to being authentic to the legend that is Black Sabbath, so they don’t play any Ozzy solo material, they don’t play anything from after 1978 and they don’t play the songs like a covers band would! For a totally absorbing and realistic Black Sabbath material (and many have said better-sounding than the last couple of Sabbath concerts...) then you simply cannot miss seeing Sabbra Cadabra for the best Sabbath experience you’re likely to see! Don’t miss it!

Sabbra Cadabra play 2 hours of non-stop classic Sabbath...no Ozzy solo songs...no Randy Rhoads or Zakk Wylde 'interpretations' of Sabbath...no dodgy wigs...no 'pub band cover versions'...no changing the keys from the originals...

THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE TO SABBATH, PLAYED LIKE SABBATH, SOUNDS LIKE SABBATH!

8.00pm.

£10 adv, from the Corner Bar or from Rockageddon.
£15 otd.

The Emperors Of The North @ The Linley Tavern, Alsager View map - The Linley Tavern Permanent link

The Emperors Of The North

Once upon a time....way back in the annals of time....before Adam were a lad.... as they say in Yorkshire... a guitarist wandered into a magic cave, (actually it was a dry dock at the Venetian Marina but hey, who cares !!).

The guitarist enquired of the keeper of this magic cave, “I say old chap, can you paint my bottom black”.

Before he had a chance to reply with a well chosen witticism, the guitarist spotted an ancient document, roughly pinned to the cave wall which contained ghostly images of people unknown from distant lands.

(Actually it was a faded photo of a local rock band called Sinner)

“I say old chap, do you play in a band” said the guitarist. “Oh yes” said the keeper of the cave....” do you? “. “Not at the moment “came the guitarist’s reply.

What happened next has been lost in the dim and distant past, but what we do know is that eventually the guitarist and the keeper of the magic cave discovered another, secret, magic cave, within the magic cave (otherwise known as a loft) and it was from within this place that strange sounds began to escape across the marina on a Saturday afternoon.

Sounds made by various strange and mystical instruments which in their own turn and been fashioned by ancient and revered craftsmen wizards called Fender, Marshall, Vox, Peavey and not forgetting ....Gibson.

As time passed other mysterious persons came along to contribute to these strange sounds (otherwise known as music) and eventually a passable kind of pleasant listening started to emerge and attract the attention of unwary passersby.

Not only were there guitarists in this happy band but bass players, singers and yes.....even drummers came to join in the throng....but alas...none stayed for too long... UNTIL NOW THAT IS!!

Derailed @ Albert's Corner, Crewe View map - Albert's Corner Permanent link

Derailed

DERAILED are a four-piece rock covers band based in Crewe.

VOCALIST Suzi Venables-Wood ‘Suzi Blue’ brings a new twist to class rock covers. With her powerful and agile vocals, she brings a vocal quality to the band. She takes to stage with enthusiasm and a diverse set list that is sure to have you singing along. Taking inspiration from Muse, Skunk Anansie and No Doubt, she brings a vibrant and fresh sound to the stage.

LEAD GUITARIST Dave Dayman has been playing guitar since the age of nine. His first guitar was a beaten up acoustic and in the beginning he had dreams of playing in a world-dominating heavy metal band (very uncool at the time as it was 1982 and electronic music was the 'in thing'). From that point on he was hooked on anything to do with music, especially the guitar and has always had a passion for rock based music. His taste has grown over the years (age and wisdom do that to you apparently) and his influences include a wide range of artists from Queen and Muse to Band of Skulls and Biffy Clyro, Simple Minds to Early Maiden, Pink Floyd to Free and plenty in between. Dave has played with various bands over the years and loves how music makes him feel... His passion for music is somewhat contagious.

BASSIST Ian 'Hitchy' Hitchinson is a seasoned bass guitarist, formerly of long running local band Bedlam, is now plucking the low strings in this unique female fronted rock band. Originally from Sandbach, he's always been into rock music, and was a biker back in the day. Musically his influences range from The Beatles, Cage the Elephant, Chilli peppers to The Cheeky Girls. Only joking...

DRUMMER Carl Hitchen played in previous bands with two members of Derailed before, local band Bedlam with Suzi and Ian and the Typhoons with Ian. He's played in loads of different bands and different styles of music over the last 15 years, stood in for other bands and helped out when the drummer wasn't available. He says that he 'wings it' most of the time as he's not allowed a kit setup at home as he's quite heavy-handed so his practice drumkit is his steering wheel on the way to work! His favourite style of music is metal but he'll play absolutely anything as long as it sounds good!
