The definitive guide to live music and gigs in the Crewe area.
As heard on BBC 6 Music & Radio Caroline, garnering support from Kim Wilde, Mark Radcliffe & Tom Robinson.
Cheshire folk rockers Venus Rising's debut 2015 single 'Lazy Daze' (Global Path Records) was aired on the national BBC Introducing Mixtape, and on BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson show, Kim Wilde tweeted that she loves the track, and BBC's Mark Radcliffe selected them to play Knutsford Beer Festival 2015 (which they also played in 2016), saying afterwards: 'If you like your folk music, have a good listen to Venus Rising.'
They have played live extensively at places including BBC Radio Stoke, Moorlands FM, The Cat FM, Signal FM, Redshift Radio, The Sugarmill, The Box (headline), Bristol VegFest, The Acoustic Festival of Britain (2015 &16), Cloud 9, countless Staffordshire/Cheshire festivals and a huge number pubs, clubs and events. They've shared lineups with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Paul Carrack, Midge Ure, Paul Young, Bruce Foxton, Galleon Blast, Merry Hell, and many more. With a chilled second single 'Woodlight' released October 2016, their debut album was released 6th May 2017, rave reviews of their music and live gigs, and a fan base from over 45 countries on Facebook, things are certainly looking good for the band! Sheena also plays numerous solo gigs around Manchester, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Wolverhampton and more, and in the past has performed live in Thailand, Australia, Luxembourg and Brazil (on TV Globo), supported Glenn Tilbrook, had 'Dreaming of Peace' played on BBC Introducing Stoke and appeared in Thea Gilmore's chart-hitting 'Mainstream' video.
Named in support of The Venus Project (www.thevenusproject.com) who Sheena volunteers with, and their global solutions for peace, sustainability, abundance etc, they like to share a message of fun and positive change!
